Coach Gheorghe Radu
Gheorghe has been involved in soccer for more than 45 years. During these years, he has played professionally in Europe, Romania, and in Chicago. He is a former Romanian National Team member. He was trained by German, Italian, Russian, and Romanian National Coach Mircea Lucescu, his mentor. Gheorghe has coached local high schools and academies that included Cambridge, Caldwell, John Glenn and Morgan for more than 20 years. He also has trained College and Professional Players. Gheorghe has obtained his OHSAA referee license.
Coach Michael Ontko
Michael has been involved with soccer for more than 30 years. He played high school at Warren Local in Vincent, Ohio where they finished in the top 16 of the OHSAA Division one tournament in 1993. He went on to play 4 years at Malone University where he earned a soccer scholarship. During his time there they qualified for the NCCAA national tournament every year earning a 3rd place finish in the nation in 1997. After his playing days, he was the grad assistant in 1998 and Assistant Coach/Interim Malone Women’s Head Coach in 1999 helping them to a 3rd place finish in the NCCAA National Tournament. While there, he coached several NCCAA 1st and 2nd team All-Americans. Michael has coached at all age groups with several local youth leagues and at the high school level including Shenandoah and Caldwell. He currently holds the US Soccer Grassroot and 11 v 11 Coaching Course Certificates.
